Heritage Herbals to enter Bahrain

Heritage Herbals, the 100-per cent export oriented ayurvedic drug manufacturing unit of Krishnendu Ayurveda Specialty Hospital at Chingoli near Alappuzha in Kerala, is all set to expand their operations into Bahrain.

According to the company, it has entered into alliance with Alpha Pharmacy to market its products in Bahrain. The company, which exports 90 per cent of its products to Middle East as a key focus region, has submitted all the basic data and is expected to get the marketing approval shortly. The company is already present in the Middle East countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Dr C K Mohan Babu, chief physician, Krishnendu Ayurveda Specialty Hospital, said, "We have already entered into a marketing tie-up with a local company and submitted all the necessary data for government's approval. The marketing approval is expected to get in one month. It will be on a trial basis and once it proved successful, we will expand into other markets also." Heritage Herbals with its marketing tie-up with Selcon Remedies at Dubai, currently exports OTC products, mainly massage oils, pain relieving oils and anti-hair falling oils to the region. The export oriented OTC products of the company include specialty oils like Rosana baby massage oil, Alo Win anti-dandruff oil, Softlax herbal laxative, Win Up hair growth stimulator, Winterlint anti-stress oil, Heritage massage oil for smoothening the skin, Arthro pain relieving oil, Rumafree pain relieving oil, Winterlint Junior oil for stress management and for improving memory and learning, Gynolint oil to remove stretch marks and scars, Shamla hair shampoo, Lanzer oil for erectile dysfunctions, Al Manjeza and Al Mohenned, two unique anti-hair falling oils.

Commenting on the potential that Middle East market offers to the ayurvedic drug manufacturers in the country, he said, "Middle East offers great market for the Indian ayurvedic drug manufacturers in the country and it is a promising market for the domestic players. Ayurvedic clinics and hospitals have a great scope in this region, as several people are coming forward to support them."

About 90 per cent of the massage clinics in the region are ayurveda clinics, and Indian exporters are targeting these clinics.
